Greene boy gets to be Mayor for a day
GREENE – Cameron Johnson was chosen to act as Mayor for a Day in the Village of Greene following a successful community Halloween dance and food challenge.
Mayor Marcia Miller had originally issued Greene Central School students the challenge to collect and donate food items to the Greene area churches food pantry.
The students met the challenge by donating more than 220 items that were collected at the 25th annual community Halloween dance. More than 310 students attended the dance, which was sponsored by the Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce, Sidney Federal Credit Union, NBT Bank and D.J. Randy Horton.
