At the grand opening celebration on Nov. 18, Ron Cerow, nursing home administrator, described the renovation and how it will benefit the residents:  “It will enable us to offer more dining options to accommodate individual preferences in a newly decorated and refurbished café style dining room.”  The refurbished room features a new serving and preparation area. Cerow stated, “The new dining facility will allow us to serve our residents a wider variety of food choices and will allow them to have their breakfast at times that are not limited by the demands of the general hospital.” He also said that residents should find mealtimes even more appealing, since they will be able to experience the aromas of hot food cooking, just as they did in their homes.

The renovation, which was orchestrated by a multi-disciplinary team,  began in mid-September and was designed to create as little disruption to residents as possible. Residents were able to get their first look at the Nov. 18 celebration. They had positive comments about the lighter, brighter appearance of the room; the large, wall-mounted  flat-screen TV; the new serving area and beverage center. Comments included, “I love the bright color scheme. I can’t wait to spend lots of time here with my friends.”
