Mid York Shining Brass performs in Norwich

NORWICH – The Mid York Shining Brass Band is looking forward to performing tonight at the Norwich United Church of Christ. Concert time is 7:30 p.m.

The sound of a Brass Band is always exciting and especially so during the holiday season. Made up of trumpets, French horns, Flugel horn, Euphoniums, baritones, trombones and tubas, and sitting way at the top of the spectrum is the high piping sound of the Eflat trumpet played by Nick Natolie. The Eflat trumpet is shorter than a regular B flat trumpet and its purpose in life is to add that brilliance to the band.

Soloists for the concert include Nolan Wilcox, trumpeter, who will perform that classic hymn, “The Holy City.” Nolan is a full time farmer from Oxford, but finds time to apply his talents to both the Oxford and Norwich summer band. He is member of the well known musical  Wilcox family (which includes Spiegel Wilcox).
