Oxford hosts sing-a-long with historic flair Tuesday

OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society (OHS) is inviting the community to a musical program at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room at the Oxford Memorial Library. This was originally scheduled as a simple Sing-a-Long, but it has evolved into something even more exciting and entertaining. Singers from two excellent performing groups, the Binghamton Madrigal Choir Quartet and members of the Oxford Academy High School Chorus will usher in the holiday season with song.
The Binghamton Madrigal Choir Quartet will sing selections from their current repertoire as one of the main features that evening. Their performance will include many holiday favorites and offer music for every taste.
More wonderful music will be performed by the Oxford Academy High School Chorus, directed by Michael Moren. They will have a septet and a male trio who will lead everyone in selections from the Old Oxford Songbook and the “Alma Mater.”
You’ll still be able to participate in some songs if you want, so warm up your good singing voice and bring family and friends to enjoy the evening. There will be a short business meeting at 7 p.m. and singing begins at 7:30. This program is open to members and non-members, and will include another enticement: coffee, tea and sweet treats will be served.
Remember to take the alternate route to the Library due to another historic event … the repair of the Main Street Bridge.
