SHERBURNE – After a slow start, Sherburne-Earlville quickly gained command of its game with Sauquoit Valley.

Down 5-0 in the first minute, S-E outscored Sauquoit Valley 17-6 to finish the period, and extended that margin with a 23-6 second stanza. Paul Romanenko and Jesse Yerton hit two three-pointers apiece in the second quarter, and the Marauders had five of their seven treys during that eight-minute span. “We really picked up our defensive intensity after they took the early lead,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “The nice thing is that we had six different people score in the second quarter. I think depth is the strength of our team. We have nine guys that can score.”
