According to the Norwich Dance Club founder Martha Ryan, the Christmas Dance is an opportunity for the dance club to give back to the community. Stated Ryan, “Over the past year the greater Norwich area community has bestowed many blessings on the Norwich Dance Club and we are always looking for ways to contribute to the community. This year we are concentrating our efforts on gathering toys and other goods that we can contribute to the ‘Toys for Tots’ effort. Many of our members have contributed toys that will go to needy families and we encourage everyone who attends our Christmas Dance to bring a toy. We can think of no better gift than that of lighting up the face of a child on Christmas morning.”
