Bainbridge fire leaves family homeless just days before Christmas

BAINBRIDGE – A Friday morning fire in the Town of Bainbridge left one family without a home for the holidays, although the American Red Cross has assisted them with financial aid for food, clothing, shoes and seasonal garments.

The fire, which is being blamed on old, faulty electrical wiring, completely destroyed the family’s Route 38 farmhouse. According to an American Red Cross release, six adults and one child asleep at the time of the fire were able to exit the house safely, although the family dog did not survive.
