Grand Canyon raft trip featured at Chenango River Theatre’s Winter Gala
GREENE – With wonderful and exotic items you’ll want to bid on, Chenango River Theatre’s fifth annual Winter Gala fundraiser will be held at The Silo Restaurant from 6–9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.
Featured at this year’s Gala is a six-day trip for two rafting the rapids of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. The trip is donated by Arizona Raft Adventures in support of CRT’s upcoming 2012 world premiere of a new play (Separation Rapid) based on the true story of Bessie and Glen Hyde’s 1928 attempt to run the river while on their honeymoon.
With over one hundred items donated by area merchants, those attending the Gala often find great bargains on fine artwork, jewelry, sports memorabilia and gift certificates to area attractions and restaurants.
Four other vacation possibilities are up for bid in addition to the Grand Canyon trip: A week in a private apartment in the historic village of Lourmaine, France, in the Provence region (includes an airfare credit); One week in a private home in Wrightsville Beach, NC, less than 5 minutes from the beach with numerous golf courses nearby; A getaway to an exclusive private camp in the Catskills, renowned for the fishing; A week at the Endless Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania.
Included in the evening are exquisite hors d’oeuvres, carving stations and a wealth of desserts as well as complimentary wine, beer & soda for the $60/person admission (which includes a tax-deductible gift). Tickets are available through January 19th by calling 656-8778 or going online at www.chenangorivertheatre.org and clicking on the Fundraisers/Special Events link.
Corporate tables (tables for 8) will be recognized for their support at the event. In addition, corporate table sponsors will receive their choice of a 50% discount for their ad in CRT’s 2012 theatre playbill or 4 complimentary tickets to any show in the 2012 season (except the musical).
Pianist Claudia Kachmarik and auctioneer Charlie Manasse will work with Mistress of Ceremonies Heidi Weeks to make the evening memorable. For additional info on auction items, visit CRT’s website (www.chenangorivertheatre.org) and click on the Fundraisers/Special Events link.
If you are interested in donating an item, contact the theatre office at 656-8778.
