DVD Patrol

Time to go for another round, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is rounding the bend for another week full of DVD goodness. The guy driving the boat, the Toddster, has seen to it there is a lot of good ones for this week. Let’s see what there is at the finish line.

Killer Elite - Friendship means a lot to people. Even if they’re professional killers. Danny (Jason Statham) and Hunter (Robert Deniro) have been working with each other doing jobs for years. Whatever the job is, they do it. No questions asked. Things change, though, when a job goes wrong and Danny gets wounded. Hunter rescues him and Danny decides it’s time to get out of the business. Time passes and Danny learns that Hunter took one last job but was taken hostage by the people who hired him. Now only Danny can complete the job and rescue his mentor from certain death. Can Danny do it before Hunter’s time runs out? Statham is in a new film called “Safe”coming out in theaters in February.

What’s Your Number? - Relationships are tricky. For Ally (Anna Faris) that’s an understatement. ally could hold the record because she has had about 20 of them and they’ve all pretty much gone bad. One day, she reads an article that she might have missed her chance at true love. So Ally goes on a quest to see each guy she has been with and find out if the article is true or not. Things get even more complicated when she runs into Colin (Chris Evans). Ally might have found the right guy. Is she right on the money or has love passed her by? Evans is getting ready to be Captain America one more time when he teams up with the Avengers hitting theaters in May. Also, Faris cab also be heard in the latest installment of “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” now in theaters.

The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption - For Methayus (Victor Webster), being King has always been a hard proposition. Now Horus (Ron Perlman), the King of Egypt, and Talius (Billy Zane) are battling each other for territory and now Methayus and his kingdom are caught in the middle. Methayus loses his kingdom and these rivals find a way to take it from him. Methayus isn’t called “The Scorpion King” for nothing. Now, our hero goes on a quest to get it all back and to take those down who would take from him what is his. Can Methayus find a way to get it all back? Perelman can be seen with Ryan Gosling in “Drive” coming soon to DVD and will be featured in a future DVD Patrol.

Colombiana - Revenge is never an easy thing. For Catalya (Zoe Saldana), this has never been more evident. Catalya loved her parents but her father was in a business where there was only one way to get out. He tried to get out but he and his wife were killed before they could find a way. Catalya saw both of them get killed and now all she wants to do is to find the boss who’s responsible. She goes to her uncle who decides to train her to be the best killer in the business. Years go by and she has been picking away little by little at the people who were behind her parents’ deaths. Can Catalya find some peace and get her revenge? Zaldana is getting ready for ‘Star Trek 2” set for release some time next year in theaters.

Time to put the boat away and get ready for another ride for next week. A lot of good ones are on the way and we have to get ready. The Toddster shall be here next time.
