Greene 57, Norwich 21
GREENE – Only seven of the 15 weight classes had contested matches Thursday night at Greene, and the Trojans received six forfeits along the way to slap Norwich with its second dual meet loss in a row.
“Obviously, we would have liked to have seen both teams healthy,” said Norwich coach Joe Downey. “People want to see a good dual match between two good teams, and unfortunately we’re hurt right now.”
Braxton Howell (99) won a major decision for Greene to open the meet, and Brendan Wheeler (106) followed for the Trojans with a pin.
Among the highlights for Norwich was the 7-3 decision win for Anthony Vitello in the 160-pound class. Vitello pressed the action and was firmly in control of the match throughout the six minutes.
“Anthony’s still rolling,” Downey said. “Ramsey has been around for a while and is one of the better kids in the section. Anthony is making a name for himself and he’s moving up the board as far as rankings go.”
