“Beaucoup Blue” at 6 On The Square tonight

OXFORD – Tonight at 7:30, 6 On The Square (6OTS) is proud to welcome back the nationally touring band, Beaucoup Blue. David and Adrian Mowry are Beaucoup Blue, a Philadelphia based father and son, Americana duo. They’re a Billboard Magazine World Song Contest Grand Prize Winner and top 40 on the AMA Radio Chart. They mesh together their blues roots with traditional and contemporary styles to perform their own brand of bluesy Americana music with an original and relevant edge.
Although blues is a staple in their repertoire, Beaucoup Blue’s original music is also an innovative mix of Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country and Bluegrass. A wide range of instruments like six and twelve string guitars, slide guitar and round neck resonator guitar, compliment the superb harmony of the two soulful voices, only a father and son could achieve. The unique results are a rich sound that combines grace and grit which both haunts and mesmerizes audiences.
Richard Cucarro from Acoustic Live NYC said, “David’s slide guitar is the first thing you notice. In tandem with Adrian’s deft finger-picking its precision and grace is the aural equivalent of a hot fudge sundae.”
Don’t miss their arrestingly soulful blues-based music. Tickets are $15 (plus $2 service charge) until the date of the performance, $18 at the door. Ticket price for students, under age 18, are always $2; call to make a student reservation. Doors open one-hour prior to show time. For further information, call 843-OTS6 (6876) or visit www.6onthesquare.org.
Also, don’t miss these future performances: Christine Lavin and Don White on Feb. 18, Chris Shaw on Feb. 25, and Alan Reid on March 10, all at 7:30 p.m. Doors open one-hour before show time. Visit the website for tickets and future event information.
