Marauders repeat as CSC champions

ROME – Sherburne-Earlville’s boys captured their second straight Center State Conference league tournament titel this past weekend at King Pin Lanes in Rome.
Mike Wilson, whose 206 season average was the high in the conference this season, won overall individual honors for high series posting a 682 with games of 255, 259, and 168. Dylan Baker added a 614 triple and David Sheldon a 591.
The Marauders built an insurmountable lead with a 1,007 pinfall in game one and an 1,106 aggregate in game two on their way to a 2,970 total.
Baker’s 268 in game two was also the high individual game as S-E swept all of the team and individual accolades.
Wilson, based on his high league average in the CSC, qualified for the six-person Section III all-star team. He will bowl with the other high-average bowlers in the three other Section III confences as part of the New York State tournament team.
The final two spots on the Section III team will we determined Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. in Fulton. Bowlers among the top 10 percent in overall average earned bids to this special roll-off tournament. The Marauders’ David Sheldon, who averaged a 193 this season, will vie for one of the two final spots in an attempt to join Wilson on the all-star squad.
