Oxford Academy debuts ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ this weekend

OXFORD – Get ready to take a walk on the scary side as Oxford Academy High School prepares to unveil its production of “Little Shop of Horrors” this weekend.

The performances will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the high school auditorium. Admission will be $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

“Putting this show together’s been a lot of fun. The kids really enjoy it and it fits the group very well,” said Director Michael Moren. “The kids vote each year on which play to do ... which one fits with the group the best.”

The premise of “Little Shop” isn’t exactly what you’d expect from a high school musical, the cast agreed.

Essentially: boy meets girl; girl ignores boy; boy finds strange plant with a taste for human blood and hilarity ensues.
