Rory Block opens the spring Arts Café series

EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House starts its Spring Series with “One of America’s foremost Country Blues torchbearers; [Rory Block is] a breathtaking slash-’n’-burn guitarist and a supremely soulful, sexy vocalist.” She’s also a five-time Blues Music Award winner – promising a real treat in the very intimate Arts Café setting on Saturday, March 24th at 8pm.

Block’s reviews are outstanding; The New York Times writes: “Her playing is perfect, her singing otherworldly as she wrestles with ghosts, shadows and legends.” Her guitar work has garnered this praise from Guitar Extra: “Rory Block has become one of the world’s most important preservers of the roots of American music. Join us in the intimate EOH Arts Café for an evening with Rory Block’s masterful guitar and her exceptionally expressive voice on Saturday, March 24. Seating is limited. (Rory Block usually plays much larger venues). Admission is $30 and $28 for EOH members and students are discounted to $25. The Earlville Opera House is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.
