FAYETTEVILLE – Norwich students Kegan Levesque and Daniel Conant set new state records at last weekend’s New York/Ontario Powerlifting Cup, sanctioned by the 100 Percent Raw Powerlifting Federation.

Levesque, competing in the 198-pound, 16-17 age division, set a state and national record in the squat with a lift of 476 pounds. He also set state, national, and world records with a bench press of 402.5 pounds, and set state, national, and world records with a three-lift combined total of 1,396.5 pounds (dead lift is the third lift).

Conant established two state records in the 165-pound 13-14 age division with a squat of 275 and a dead lift of 315 pounds. Conant and Levesque each placed first in their age groups.
