Williamson wins 2012 Greene Bowlodrome mixed scratch house championship
GREENE – For the third time in seven tournaments, Russ Williamson won the Greene Bowlodrome Mixed Scratch House Championship taking the title Saturday, March 31, with a 257-243 victory over Jim Pollard in a high-scoring final game.
Twenty-four scratch bowlers participated in the tournament with the top five bowlers after four games earning qualifying spots in a TV-tournament-style roll-off. The top five seeds were Pollard (901), Mike Shoemaker (856), Williamson (849), Dan Tallett (841), and Carl Pratt Jr. (821).
In the opening match, Pratt Jr. defeated Tallett, 277-206, before falling to Williamson, 237-197. Williams then beat Shoemaker, 217-151 to reach the finals. The title match came down to the tenth frame with Williamson prevailing by 14 pins.
