C-Care hosts solar energy lecture series

GUILFORD – Chenango Community Action for Renewable Energy is in the midst of sponsoring a series of lectures devoted to exploring the many facets of solar energy and its implications for the community.

Nearly 100 people attended an initial forum late last month titled Solar Energy for Homeowners, according to Kenneth Fogarty, C-Care chairperson. Fogarty was on hand at a meeting of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors last week to invite members to attend the lectures.

The second forum, Solar Farms & Funding Solar Projects, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Community Room of the Morrisville State College Norwich Campus. Dr. Gay Canough, a physicist, former NASA scientist and founder/chief executive officer of ETM Solar Works, will speak about new opportunities in leasing solar installations and community-based solar farms.
