Loomis named to Class B all-state team

SYRACUSE – Norwich senior Bryn Loomis punctuated her senior basketball season with an all-state selection.
The New York State Sportswriters Association released its all-state teams earlier this week, and Loomis was a fourth team Class B girls basketball pick. Loomis topped Norwich in scoring this past season at just over 14 points per game, and led the Tornado to their second straight Section IV tournament championship game.
Over the last month, Loomis has been named to the STAC Central/East All-Conference team; was selected to the Basketball Coaches Association of New York All-Section IV team; received her second straight Evening Sun All-County team nod; and was recently placed on the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin “Elite 10” squad.
Loomis was a three-year starter for Norwich during her basketball career under head coach Josh Bennett. She leaves a huge hole to fill in the Tornado lineup, Bennett said. “Anyone who has seen her play knows she’s at least one of the best 20 Class B players in the state,” Bennett said. “She’s had an amazing career, and will be an incredibly tough girl to replace.”
