Fire strikes Coventry home
COVENTRY – Fire and emergency personnel from the Coventry, Bainbridge, Greene, Afton, Smithville, Oxford and Harpursville fire departments responded to this structure fire at 124 Nursery St. in Coventry at approximatley 2:24 p.m. Thursday. No one was home at the time of the fire, which completely destroyed the rear of the house, although some of the owners’ possessions were salvaged. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately five hours and Coventry Fire Chief Daron Shultes called the knockdown a good one, which saved most of the residence.
