Downtown Norwich kicks off car-themed weekend tomorrow night
NORWICH – The Norwich Business Improvement District and Norwich Merchants Association are gearing up to ring in the Memorial Day weekend with music, food, and classic cars in the heart of the city as it kicks off the 11th annual Cruise-In from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, in East and West Parks.
According to BID Director Roz DeRensis, the yearly tradition is a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to show off their pride and joy, and the perfect lead-in to a busy car-related weekend as the Rolling Antiquers Car Show takes place at the fairgrounds on Saturday. The BID and the Norwich Merchants Association, in conjunction with Nina’s Restaurant, Christman Motor Sales, The Evening Sun, Pennysaver, Rock Star DJ and the Service Pharmacy are pitching in to make the event an exciting and memorable start of the summer season.
“It’s a great time for car buffs to show off their cars, motorcycles, tractors – anything with wheels,” said DeRensis. “This annual event helps get everyone in the mood for the classic car show weekend. It’s a fun way to kick off the holiday weekend and to bring people to our downtown parks.”
