Hospital Foundation announces annual gift
NORWICH – The Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced a gift to the hospital of $54,000. The gift will be used toward renovating the interior of the hospital’s health center on Newton Avenue. “We’re excited to support the hospital in this next phase of growth,” commented Christopher Hayes, 2011 Foundation Chairman. When renovations are completed, the Walk-In Center, Pediatrics, General Surgery, and Orthopedics will be located in the center.
Overall, the Foundation reported fundraising for the year totaled $204,645 including the annual campaign, which raised $121,000. “We received outstanding support from everyone,” commented Linda Tracey Palmatier, 2012 Campaign Chair. “We’re so thankful that people recognize the value of contributing to the hospital’s foundation and the work we’re doing to support the hospital.”
Over the years, Chenango Memorial Hospital’s Foundation has provided funding for equipment in several patient care areas, renovations on the in-patient and maternity units, and a handicap-accessible vehicle to transport long-term residents to community activities. “The hospital is a vital part of our community. They have made great strides, improving services despite shrinking reimbursements and unanswered questions about healthcare reform,” said Palmatier.
