COOPERSTOWN – Unadilla Valley improved to 6-0 in Otsenango Pony League play topping Cooperstown at Doubleday Field, then romping past Sidney II,
Trailing Cooperstown by two runs entering the third, UV put together back-to-back three-run innings to take control. Austin Taylor had an RBI single in the third, and Jed Parker’s two-run single gave UV the lead for good. Will Martin and Taylor had RBI singles in the fourth.
Taylor finished a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs; and Martin had two hits and two ribbies.
Nate Shackelton picked up the victory striking out 13 and allowing four hits.
UV erupted for 27 runs on 28 hits to dispatch Sidney II.
Martin went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI,Taylor went 4-for-5 with three RBI; Ryan Postma had four hits and five runs scored, Jed Parker homered among his three hits, Kyle King added four hits, and Shackelton homered, finished with three hits, and pitched a scoreless fourth inning to earn his third win. All nine of UV’s starters finished with at least two basehits.

John Nicolosi went 2-for-2 with two RBI to pace Edmeston, and Clayton Lyon went 2-for-3.
