Norwich I 5, Hamilton 2 (8 innings)

HAMILTON – Norwich I clinched the Otsenango Pony League Division A title Thursday evening beating second-place Hamilton for the second time this season.

Norwich (8-0) has won league titles the past two seasons, and earned a spot in the eight-team playoffs scheduled later this week.

Tied with Hamilton at 2-2 entering the seventh, Kevin Stockwell unlocked the tie with a two-run triple to score Jake Walsh and Chris Trevisani. Stockwell made it a three-run cushion when he came in on Cody Brady’s RBI single.

Walsh finished with two runs scored, and the outfield trio of Stockwell, Colin Fern, and Brady came up with several big plays, said head coach Tim Thompson.
