OXFORD – Oxford erased a 3-0 Sherburne lead scoring six runs in the bottom of the third to finish the season above the .500 mark (5-4-1), Monday in Otsenango Pony League play.
Matt Moore drove in Angelo Gonzalez with Oxford’s first run, Kevin Davis followed with an RBI single, and an error on Tommy Voce’s infield groundball allowed the tying and go-ahead runs to score.
Moore finished with three hits and three runs scored, Richard Ryan went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, and Davis was a perfect 2-for-2 with two walks and two RBI. Davis also pitched five innings giving up one earned run for his third win of the season.
Sherburne scored three in the second inning – one earned – taking advantage of three base on balls and an Oxford error.

Norwich II loses to Bainbridge, Oneonta
NORWICH - Norwich’s second Otsenango Pony League team dropped a nail-biting 9-8 game to Bainbridge on Friday, July 13, and finished its 10-game season schedule falling to division-leading Oneonta, 11-1, Saturday afternoon.
Bainbridge plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the victory. “It was our best game of the season,” said Norwich II coach Dave Mack. “Being the youngest team in the division, we struggled against the older teams, but we learned a lot along the way.”
Brendon Budd was 3-for-5 to lead the Norwich offense. John Predmore and Matt Gladstone added 2-for-3 days in the one-run defeat.
Oneonta’s Brandon Corna pitched four nnings allowing just one hit to spearhead his club’s victory over Norwich II.
The lone Norwich II hit during the opening four innings was Cody Brady’s solo home run to left center. John Marvin was the only other Norwich player to collect a basehit.
