Unadilla Valley 6, Milford 4

ONEONTA – Unadilla Valley dealt Milford its first loss of the season Saturday in the Otsenango Pony League playoffs, and advanced to its second league championship game in five seasons.

A five-run second inning catapulted UV into the lead, who will meet the unbeaten Oneonta Jackets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Neawah Park in Oneonta for the league title.

Nate Shackelton pitched six innings for the victory giving up five hits and striking out eight to earn the victory.

Austin Lewis keyed UV’s big second frame with a two-run double.

Milford closed the lead to 6-3 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Steve Banks had a two-run single, and Jake Tabor added a sacrifice fly.
