Expressing your inner music workshop at EOH Saturday

EARLVILLE – A new musical workshop is offered at the Earlville Opera House on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Todd Rogers teaches Expressing Your Inner Music: Celebrating and Supporting Creativity Through Sound. Rogers is a violinist who gigs locally with several collaborators. He is training under Grammy-Award winning cellist, David Darling at Music for People in improvisation facilitation and is dedicated to supporting others in finding and expressing their inner music.

Why learn these techniques? Rogers explains, “It’s about becoming more comfortable with your playing and freeing yourself up to enjoy a more relaxed quality to your playing. Uniquely suited to all levels of musical ability, the day will consist of structured activities that allow us to improvise music and sound that comes from the heart.

“If you are new to music you will experience ways to express yourself musically through exercises experienced in a fun, supportive and encouraging atmosphere. If you’re an experienced musician, you’ll come away with tools to increase the breadth of your expression and deepen your musical connection with yourself, your audience and those you play with.
