Get the most bang for your buck with a fair season pass
NORWICH – Coordinators of the 165th Chenango County Fair are offering fair goers the chance to do more for less this year by selling memberships that allow holders to enjoy the greatest sights and sounds of the annual six-day celebration.
“Sales of memberships have increased rapidly this year,” said Chenango County Fair Board of Directors President Mary Weidman. Last year, the Fair Board agreed to change some of the fair bylaws, she said, allowing for membership holders to gain free daily admittance to the fair, on top of free parking and the chance to attend three Grandstand events of their choice and voting privileges at the annual Chenango County Agricultural Society meeting in November. It was an effort to increase the sale of memberships and offer more bang for a buck, she said.
Memberships are priced at $20 each and are currently available at the fair main office under the Grandstand at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. They can be purchased any time until the end of the fair on Aug. 12, but to get the most for your money, “we recommend that people purchase them prior to the fair,” said Weidman.
Though the price for a membership has gone up $5 from last year’s cost, it’s well worth it, Weidman added. Season pass holders can save as much as $21 in Grandstand event admission alone. There’s not much that season passes don’t cover this year, she said, adding “I hope it’s something that everyone can take advantage of.”
