This marks the Smithy’s fourth theatrical production of the season. Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, the play is written by the late, great Nora Ephron and her sister, Delia Ephron and has been running off-Broadway in Manhattan to outstanding reviews from critics and audiences alike for several years. The story focuses on a large array of characters, all played by five women, as they recount stories of their lives that are both hilarious and, at times, heartbreaking through the lens of their wardrobes. Although this is a play about women, men enjoy it equally because of its universal relevance and humor.

Because of the huge turnout at auditions, the Smithy and play’s director, Susan Melchior, elected to have two casts: Susan Kenny, Mary-Jo Merk, Scottie Baker, Joanne Telfer, and Michelle Gardner star in the Friday night and Saturday matinee performances; Ann Szwejbka, Sharon Feldman, Susan Miosek, Kate Sullivan, and Danielle Newell star in the Saturday night and Sunday matinee performances.
