Isn’t it great that Chenango County has a growing business providing jobs for a lot of people? But wait, some of us in dairyland aren’t celebrating yet. What happened to getting the raw milk to the plant from dairies that are close? It seems that Chobani has an exclusive contract with DFA and if you don’t belong, forget it. They claim they have to go out of State to get more milk, paying more for it.

There are dairies right here in Chenango County that are not getting a fair shake, dairies that are struggling to stay alive; we don’t need to put on more cows per farm, we need to be included.

Frankly, I’m getting tired of having to write and rewrite about the problems facing dairy farms in New York.
