Coventry men, in separate incidents, charged with DWI, falsely reporting

NORWICH – A Town of Coventry man has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and third degree fleeing after he allegedly failed to comply with authorities during a routine traffic stop.

Scott A. Chapman, 49, is alleged to have been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated state and was subsequently taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned in the Town of Greene Court, remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $2,000 cash bail and will re-appear in the Town of Coventry Court at a later date.

In an unrelated incident, a second Coventry man was charged with disorderly conduct and falsely reporting an incident, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
