Letter to the Editor: McBride is by far the most experienced
Editor,
Three candidates for County Court Judge have submitted their names for consideration. Two candidates, for the Republican, Independent and Conservative nominations will be decided at the primary election on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. The winner will face off against the Democratic, Working Families and Independence parties nominee in the Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 general election. Whoever wins will fill the post for the next ten years and preside over the County, Family and Surrogate Courts.
All of us eligible to vote should take our decision very seriously. This is no popularity contest or voting for the “nice guy.” It is a vote for a person who will dispense justice in a fair, considered and impartial manner. How should I decide as a voter who is the best person to fill this job and mete out justice for the next ten years? Should I count the number of signs placed around the county, or the number of stickers on motor vehicles to help my decision? Or the letters to the editor as to who is for McBride and who is for the other two candidates? That would not be a smart thing to do for a job that will affect our lives for the next ten years.
