Letter to the Editor: Sherburne mayor supports McBride for judge
Editor,
The primary election is almost here and both candidates have shown much in the way of enthusiasm and the Republican, Conservative and Independence Parties can be proud of their choices. Both of these candidates have worked hard and at every turn their wives have been at their sides. I would guess it’s one of the hardest fought campaigns in Chenango County’s history and won’t we all be glad when it’s over.
My first contact with DA McBride was through Hospice in the early 90’s when he showed caring by giving free legal advice in the formative years of Hospice. He showed an eagerness to learn about not for profits. He still shows that same eagerness in his quest for the County Judgeship. He continues to give to the community by serving on the school board and as we all know that is a thankless job. Recently he was the only candidate for County Judge to receive the NYS Independent Judicial Elections Qualifications Commissions rating as “qualified” and so far the only candidate whose campaign hasn’t negatively attacked the other candidate, which in my humble opinion speaks to his character.
