CHENANGO FORKS - Chenango Forks recovered from a three-goal deficit to defeat the Purple Tornado Monday night.
Eric Yonda had two goals for the Blue Devils, who scored six straight goals to answer the early Norwich onslaught. “We were down a couple of kids tonight, and I think we just ran out of gas,” said Norwich coach Steve Prime. “We’re getting better and better, and the wins will come.”
Curtis Woodard scored two early goals for the Tornado, and Colin Burlison netted his first varsity goal to give NHS the lead. Late in the game, Chris Trevisani added a goal for NHS following a throw-in from Cameron Prime.

BAINBRIDGE – After 100 minutes of soccer Monday afternoon, B-G and Unadilla Valley will have to settle their battle on Wednesday when the two clubs meet for the second time in 48 hours.
Conor Pope scored unassisted for UV with 15:29 left in regulation to tie the game at 2-2. B-G had the advantage in shots on goal during the two 10-minute overtime, but were turned away by UV goalie Kyle King.
“It was very tight, and it really could have gone either way,” said B-G coach Pete Feltham. “What we said after the game was, ‘to be continued.’”
Both of the Bobcats’ goals came on headers after cornerkicks. Brent Fuller scored on Kyle Hanvey’s corner, and Brooks Harmon capitalized on Brian Tequin’s service from the corner putting the hosts in front 2-1.
UV tied the game at 1-1 four minutes into the second half on Nate Shackelton’s tally.
B-G is now 3-3-1 overall, while UV’s mark stands at 5-2-1.

GREENE - Taylor Davis scored the lone goal for Unadilla Valley, and keeper Jordan Anderson made some key saves in the second half to preserve the Storm’s shutout win.
Davis beat a Greene defender into the left side of the 18-yard box, and hit a high shot that found the net with 18:19 left in the second half.
Anderson stopped nine shots in the game, a couple of those coming from Greene’s high scorer, Paige Wilcox. “She really saved them a couple of times,” said Greene coach Brandy Stone of Anderson.
Greene (1-1, 2-4) plays at Norwich today.

Breanna Cashman outlasted the Warriors’ Julie Lavonne at third singles in three sets, and the Tornado’s second doubles team, Caroline Stewart and Taylor Stroh, also came away with a three-set win.
“It could have been a 4-3 match the other way, but those girls came through,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “The third doubles win (Steph Elder-Cohley Acenowr) was a great win. We really needed that point.”
Norwich (7-2), winners of seven straight, host Owego on Wednesday.
