Driver issued ticket following Albany St. accident

OXFORD – The Oxford Police Department on Monday responded to a one car accident that occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Albany Street.
According to Oxford Police Chief Rich Nolan, the vehicle’s driver, Tristan J. Lanfair, 20, of Oxford, was travelling south on Albany Street when he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel. Lanfair’s 2003 Chevrolet then crossed the road, striking and splitting a NYSEG utility pole. NYSEG was called in to secure the damaged pole until it can be replaced, added Nolan, and Oxford Ambulance responded to check on the driver, who was uninjured.
Lanfair was ticketed for failure to keep right and will appear in the Village of Oxford Court at a later date. Nolan said he wished to thank Mike Robinson and Francis Hubbard of Guilford for their help in directing traffic, keeping ambulance personnel, tow truck drivers and police safe during the incident
