GREENE – It took a while for the Trojans’ offense to kick into gear Monday. Jahna Driscoll scored the first of her three goals18 minutes into the opening half, and Greene went on to a shutout victory.
“There was a lot of play between the 25s,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin. “They kind of packed in the defense, and we had some trouble getting in there. That first goal, I don’t even think their goalie saw it.”
Driscoll took a penalty corner from Emma Anderson and blistered her shot into the cage. Anderson made it 2-0 at halftime tipping in a shot from Emily Conroe. The Trojans’ next three goals came within an eight-minute span of the second half. Aside from Driscoll, Colleen Dietrich had a tally.
Greene plays at Whitney Point Wednesday.

SOUTH OTSELIC - Otselic Valley jumped out to a two-goal halftime lead in winning last weekend’s game over league rival DeRuyter.
The Vikes (4-2) scored in the first minute taking the ball up the left side. Waturu Sakamoto fed a pass to Brent Rasmussen for an 18-yard shot that found the side netting. Rasmussen and Trevor Marston each finished with two goals and one assist as OV built its lead to 4-1 midway through the second half.
“This is our first game where we were ready to play from the start of the whistle,” said OV coach Jacob Preston. “Trevor, Jason Olin, and Jon Lyon hit the post with shots or else we could have really opened up the game.”
The Vikes dropped a 1-0 final to McGraw Monday afternoon. A box score will appear later this week.

NORWICH – Adam Blackwell had a hat trick for Owego, and Deaven Hammond added two goals for the Indians, who pulled away from Norwich in the second half Monday afternoon.
Owego scored four of its goals after halftime as it maintained control in Norwich’s defensive zone much of the second half. “They possessed the ball a lot better than we did,” said Norwich coach Steve Prime. “We had it in their end quite a bit in the beginning, but they defended well, and we weren’t able to capitalize.”
Norwich hosts Susquehanna Valley Wednesday.

Carter Cole upped the Marauders’ lead to two goals intercepting a misclear by Ilion and quickly striking for the insurance goal. “I thought we left a lot of (goals) on the table, and I certainly thought we had the better scoring opportunities overall,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez.

Four of the Bobcats’ seven matches have went five games, and their most recent win took four games. “It still wasn’t easy tonight by any means,” said B-G coach Pam Tompkins. “UV is playing really well, and it’s probably the strongest team I have seen from them.”
B-G’s Morgan Bullis had a team-best six kills to go with four blocks, and Alissa Rivera served six aces.
Shannon McIntyre paced the Storm (3-2) finishing with 11 aces and four assists.
