Country Club to hold Season Finale Deck Party
NORWICH – The Canasawacta Country Club will host its Season Finale Deck Party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday from the deck overlooking the 18th fairway at 261 County Road 44, an evening of tasty beverages, appetizers and live entertainment provided by singer/songwriter Dana Twigg.
Said the country club’s Banquet Coordinator Kassie Golden, “This will be our season ending finale, so we’re hoping people come out and make it a memorable one.”
There will be no cover charge for Friday’s festivities, which will include hot and cold apple cider (with or without the alcohol), as well as a pumpkin Pir martini, added Golden. A special tapas menu will also be offered, featuring peel and eat shrimp, fried ravioli, mini quesadillas, chicken wings and onion rings. Twigg, a Cortland-based guitarist and songwriter, will perform throughout the evening.
According to Lexi Robinson, public relations manager for Twigg, the singer/songwriter has a “unique style all his own,” with influences ranging from Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash and Lucero. Over the years, Twigg has performed with acts such as American Aquarium, The Wild Hunt and The Boxing Lesson.
Said Robinson, “Dana has been travelling the northeast for the past year and is proud of the places he’s be able to visit and the people he’s been able to share his music with.”
As a youth in Groton, Twigg recorded his first demo, “14 Isabel,” in the family living room. With the help of producer Max Greene, in New York City, he recorded his first full-length album, 15 Hours in Manhattan (2011). Most recently, Twigg announced the release of his second disc, Morning Light is a Friend of Mine, which can be purchased during Friday’s show, as well as online at reverbnation.com and bandcamp.com.
