Two arraigned in county court
NORWICH – A pair of alleged felons appeared in Chenango County court Wednesday, both pleading not guilty to the charges brought against them.
• Wayne E. Church, 30, of Norwich, pleaded not guilty to two counts of third degree criminal sexual act, a class E felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
It’s alleged that Church, in March and August of 2012, did unlawfully engage in criminal sexual behavior with a person less than 17 years old. He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $7,500 cash bail and will re-appear in court at a later date.
• Robert K. Robertson III, 25, Coventry, pleaded not guilty to charges of third degree grand larceny and second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both class D felonies; criminal possession of stolen property fourth degree grand larceny, both class E felonies; and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
It’s alleged that Robertson, in July and August of 2012, stole the property of another in excess of $3,000. He is accused of withdrawing approximately $3,800 from another person’s bank account on or about July 27 in the Village of Green, as well as forging a signature on a personal check that belonged to that individual. In August, it’s alleged that Robertson withdrew additional funds from that person’s bank account after stealing a credit/debit card. He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail and will re-appear in court at a later date.
