Norwich man charged with felony grand larceny, scheme to defraud

OXFORD – The Oxford Police Department, partnered with the New York State Police, recently apprehended a Norwich man wanted for issuing a number of bad checks in the Oxford area and charged with a pair of felonies.
Russell W. Davis, 42, has been charged with first degree scheme to defraud, a class E felony, and three counts of issuing a bad check, a class B misdemeanor, by the Oxford PD. According to an Oxford PD press release, the New York State Police have charged Davis with fourth degree grand larceny, also a class E felony, and one count of issuing a bad check.
Davis was located walking along County Road 32 between Oxford and Norwich, said authorities, arrested by both agencies. He was arraigned in the Village of Oxford Court, remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail and will re-appear in court at a later date.
It was also reported by the Oxford PD that Davis is currently wanted by the Afton Police Department and Owego’s New York State Police in Appalachian on other charges.
