Canasawacta Street fire Thursday morning
The Norwich and Sherburne Fire Departments, assisted by the Norwich City PD and the Chenango County Bureau of Fire, rushed to the scene of a working structure fire at 69 Canasawacta St. shortly before 9 a.m. today. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly while it was contained to the home’s second floor, taking less than an hour to do so. It’s believed that an electrical line – accidentally cut by a utility company – was the cause of the fire.
