Cops hunt Va. man in slaying of former S-E principal
MAYVILLE (AP) ‐ Police say a Virginia man is wanted for the slaying last week of a school superintendent in a rural upstate New York district.
At a briefing Thursday, authorities say they believe 42-year-old Anthony Taglianetti II of Woodbridge, Va., drove to New York to kill Keith Reed Jr. then returned to Virginia. He's still on the loose.
The body of the 51-year-old Reed was found Monday about 150 feet outside his home in the rural town of Clymer, near the Pennsylvania state line. Police say he was shot to death Friday evening.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace and District Attorney David Foley say the matter was personal and not related to Reed's employment.
Reed was hired in Clymer in November.
His funeral is Friday in his hometown of Salamanca. Reed served as high school principal at Sherburne-Earlville until 2011.
