Multiple departments respond to Greene fire

GREENE – The Greene Fire Department – joined by a number of other departments and emergency personnel out of Broome County – responded Tuesday to a fully-involved structure fire at 441 Indian Brook Road, approximately three miles east of the Village of Greene.

The fire was first reported shortly after 2 p.m., according to the county’s 911 log, and firefighters first arriving on the scene immediately requested additional aid. The Smithville, Triangle, Brisben and Oxford fire departments all responded with engine and tanker aid, as well as the Harpursville Fire Department’s Rapid Intervention Team. The Coventry and Willet fire departments were put on standby for the Greene and Smithville departments respectively.
