NORWICH – Following weeks of extensive renovations inside a storefront located in the South Plaza just outside the city, a new business has finally opened its doors.

Aaron’s Inc. first opened for merchandising in Norwich earlier this month, offering sales and lease ownership and specialty retailing of residential and name brand office furniture, electronics, appliances, accessories and seasonal items. As part of a nationwide chain of stores, the Norwich branch of Aaron’s is only one, six-employee component of a larger group that consists of more than 1,800 company-operated and franchised stores in the country.

According to the Ryan Doherty, general manager for Aaron’s Norwich branch, the store has drawn a fair share of interest from the community since its official opening nearly two weeks ago. “The store’s been doing very well,” he said. “Sometimes, stores struggle when they first open, but we’ve had a lot of people come in and we’ve had a lot of inquiries.”
