Reed murder suspect awaits extradition
CLYMER – Extradition of a Virginia man suspected of murdering former Sherburne-Earlville High School Principal Keith Reed Jr. will likely be delayed through December, reported the Jamestown Post-Journal last week.
Anthony Robert Taglianetti, the primary suspect in Reed’s murder, was apprehended just days after being named the alleged killer on Sept. 27, taken into custody near the Shenandoah Valley National Park, Va. During the course of his arrest, authorities discovered a handgun in Taglianetti’s possession – located during a search of his 2003 Buick Century – which was immediately sent for ballistic tests to see if it matched the gunshot wounds sustained by Reed.
Reed’s body was discovered on Sept. 24 outside his Clymer-Sherman Road home. He was serving as the Clymer Central School District superintendent at the time of his death, after leaving Chenango County and the Sherburne-Earlville School District in November of 2011 to accept the superintendent position.
