Golden reaches 1,000 career points in Oxford loss

SIDNEY – Oxford senior Andrew Golden reached the 1,000-point mark for his career in the second quarter Saturday, but it came in the midst of a dominant quarter for Sidney as the Blackhawks fell in the MAC semifinals.

Golden scored all 11 of Oxford’s points in the second, but four straight turnovers for the ‘Hawks at one point turned a tight ballgame into a double-digit lead for the Warriors.

“To be honest, I think some fatigue set in, and we started to make some poor decisions,” said Oxford coach Tim Davis. “I played the starters the first 10 minutes, maybe I should have subbed sooner.”
