NORWICH – Below is last week’s roundup of basketball games from the Norwich YMCA Men’s Corporate Basketball League:
Thursday’s Games
Manpower/Pennysaver 87, Pro-Tel 75
Manpower/Pennysaver jumped out to a 14-point lead at halftime in Thursday’s second game, and maintained at least a double-digit lead to win by a dozen.
Mike Genute scored a game-high 28 points for M/P, one of five players on his team in double figures scoring. Will Joslyn was next with 19, Brandon Foulds scored 13, Cory Montgomery 11, and Alex Paula 10.
Mike Shepard and Steve D’Angelo scored 18 apiece to lead Pro-Tel.
SFCU 79, Blueox Energy Products 35
The rout was on from the outset as Sidney Federal Credit Union cruised to a blowout win over undermanned Blueox.
Justin Young scored 24 of his game-high 31 points in the first half lifting his club to a 45-15 advantage. Zach Williams scored 11 points for Blueox.
Monday’s Games
Enlightened Dentistry 78, Nina’s Restaurant 61
Enlightened Dentistry picked up its first win of the season on Monday getting a game-high 40 points from Jon Foulds.
Foulds provided the bulk of his team’s offense in the first half scoring 23 points as the Dentists led 32-29 at the break.
Jack Fowlston had 16 for Nina’s and Tommy Gould 14 in the setback.
Burrell’s Excavating 75, SFCU 67
Burrell’s Excavating sealed its win over Sidney Federal Credit Union from the foul line making 13 of 15 attempts in the second half.
Nick Brunick scored 21 in the victory, Matt Foote netted 20, and Matt Burrell 15.
Neil Darragh’s 15 points led SFCU.
