Spend a Sunday afternoon with The Dady Brothers at 6OTS
OXFORD – Back by popular demand, the Dady’s are returning to 6 On The Square (6OTS) March 10, at 2 p.m.; so make your reservations now for a fun-filled afternoon, for all ages! The very talented, John and Joe Dady, everybody’s favorite Irish duo, play music that the whole family will enjoy. Their wide musical repertoire includes country, bluegrass, folk and Celtic styles, but onstage it’s their light-hearted humor and good-natured wit that really keeps audiences wanting for more.
Originally from Rochester, the brothers have shared their music at clubs, pubs, and festivals all over the United States, Canada, and Ireland for over thirty years, and have recorded ten independently released CD’s in a recording studio they built themselves. John and Joe have shared the stage with performers as diverse and notable as: The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, Mitzie Collins, Ani DeFranco, Bill Staines, Arlo Guthrie, and many more. And yet, people keep asking for more Dady’s music! Perhaps it’s because they’re such versatile instrumentalists. They play fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bodhran, banjo, uilleann pipes, harmonica and even penny whistle. Perhaps it’s the many styles of music they play. John and Joe sing songs from their Irish heritage, the folk world, and their own compositions. Their “musical magnetism” will have you singing along, clapping, and tapping your toes - and you may see some of the youngsters in the audience up on stage helping out with some of the songs.
As Tommy Makem so eloquently put it, “The Dady Brothers have it all – taste, talent, and dedication. Taste to write and select good material; talent to perform that material excellently, to the delight of their audiences; and dedication to keep their material and performances to the highest standards.”
So, come along to 6OTS, sing along, and even dance along. You just might get hooked on the Dadys too! This music is suitable for children of all ages, including those young at heart, making this a great show for the entire family.
