Hospital Foundation announces fundraising results

NORWICH – The Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced that $132,829 was raised during its recent annual campaign. “This is a new campaign record,” reported Debbie Cassavaugh, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Our community donors provided gifts of more than $94,073, which is on par with what came in last year. It was the hospital employee campaign that put us over the top,” she added.

This year’s campaign chair, John Masse, VP of Facilities and Support Services at the hospital, focused on employee giving. “Our employee participation was good in previous campaigns, but I knew we could do better,” said Masse. With a goal of raising $35,000, Masse spoke to every department during their staff meetings. His presentation included a video that featured several employees speaking about why they give. “The video really hit home with the employees,” he reported. “It was the people they work with every day delivering the message and not just me.” The effort succeeded, raising $38,756 and exceeding the goal by nearly $3,800.

Community giving, however, remains the heavyweight, accounting for 71% of the amount raised. “We appreciate the individual and corporate support in more ways than one,” commented Cassavaugh. “This level of support indicates that the donors recognize the hospital’s importance in the community and the care that goes on here. Thank you. Thank you to every single donor.”
