BINGHAMTON – Norwich juniors Matt Murray and Brooke Bonney each came away with victories at the Spring Break Invite hosted by Binghamton Tuesday afternoon.
Bonney won the discus with a toss of 93 feet, 3 inches, and was second in the shot put with a toss of 34 feet even. Murray, coming off an indoor track and field state title last month won the 400 meters by two seconds timing 51.2 seconds. Elsewhere, NHS freshman Shelby Benjamin took third in the girls’ triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 7 inches. The Tornado boys added a second place in the sprint medley clocking 3:52.25. Names were not available at press time.
