NORWICH - Unbeaten Norwich set up a showdown with fellow unbeaten Oneonta today for first place in the STAC East division after blanking Susquehanna Valley Wednesday.
Norwich preserved the shutout with first singles player Alexander Stewart winning in three sets over Andrew Emmons, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5, while NHS’s second doubles team of Brendon Budd and Cameron Edwards outlasted SV’s Lincoln Boyle and Joshua Kinney, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.

Greene 4, Sidney 1
SIDNEY – Greene dealt Sidney its first Midstate Athletic Conference loss since the 2010 season taking all but the first singles match Wednesday.
Greene’s Kevin Koerts won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Brady Race captured the third singles match for the Trojans taking a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Sidney’s lone win came at first singles as Nick Meno downed Cameron Race, 6-2, 6-3. “Greene is very strong this year, and I have a lot of respect for Rich Karl (Greene coach),” said Sidney coach Lorraine Flyzik. “He runs a nice program.”

OXFORD – B-G’s BenGabriel Gonzalez, playing at first singles, led a singles sweep for B-G in a win over Oxford Wednesday.
Gonzalez, a freshman, topped Oxford’s Casey Bevan in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Oxford earned its two victories at doubles with the pairings of Brandon Markowski-Pachari Meade along with Jesse Gates-Sara Hodge earning wins.

OXFORD – Unadilla Valley eighth-grader Brenon Maynard and teammate Collin Izard shared match medalist honors as the Storm routed Oxford at Bluestone Golf Course Wednesday.
Maynard and Izard turned in matching 42s over the par-34 front nine at Bluestone.
Jake McConnell paced Oxford firing a 48.
