SHERBURNE - An error kicked off Holland Patent’s three-run eighth inning in Monday’s extra innings victory over the Marauders (5-5).
Jordan Dzieken’s double scored the go-ahead run for Holland Patent, and Niko Ramos and Nate Palmer followed with single RBI.
S-E tied the game loading the bases with one out. The lone run, though, scored on Carter Cole’s infield grounder. Cole went 3-for-4 to lead S-E.
Saturday, the Marauders were tripped up by Sauquoit Valley, 7-6. Felix Rodriguez, Matt Smith, and Mick Khoury had two hits in the loss, and Garrett Matott pitched four innings of shutout relief allowing just one basehit.

SIDNEY - Sidney spoiled Oxford hurler Cam Heggie’s pitching gem edging the Blackhawks Monday afternoon.
Heggie logged a complete game striking out 10, walking none, and scattering nine hits against the powerful Sidney batting lineup.. Brandon Bessett had two hits and two RBI for Sidney, Billy Kozak scored two runs and drove in another, and Trey Crawford’s single in the fifth made it a 5-1 Sidney lead.
“Cam pitched a phenomenal game for us, and we missed some balls in the outfield that probably should have been caught,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.
Oxford took advantage of 11 Sidney walks to generate its two runs.

NORWICH - Chenango Valley had back-to-back two-run innings in the fourth and fifth frames to erase Norwich’s two-run lead Monday afternoon.
Eric Silvanic and Chris Ruffo had RBI hits to tie the game, and Colby Ross’s double plated the go-ahead run. Ross had three hits for CV and John Shear went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Norwich was hampered out of the gate when starting pitcher – and staff ace – Cody Barnes was injured on his 10th pitch of the game when a hit up the middle connected with his pitching wrist. Chris Trevisani, coming in cold, pitched 6 1-3 innings of solid relief in Barnes’ stead. “It’s kind of shocking for a team when its ace goes down,” said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. “The X-rays were negative, and Cody will be fine.”
Josh Haines tripled in the seventh for Norwich and scored on Cody Graves’ hit. Norwich hosts Susquehanna Valley Friday.

NORWICH – Norwich cut Chenango Valley’s runs in half from its first meeting, but still took it on the chin against the Warriors in Monday’s contest.
CV leadoff hitter Chelsea Hennige, who rattled Norwich for four hits in the first meeting (an 18-8 win), went 3-for-4 including a homer to lead off the game and two total RBI. Briana Stinson doubled and scored in the first inning helping the Warriors to the early lead.
Shannon Moore doubled twice and drove in a run for Norwich, while Kassidy Seary and Jordan Sanford drove in Norwich’s other runs. Molly Moore also had two hits for Norwich. “I was happy with the way we played other than the errors,” said Norwich coach Scott Moore. “We didn’t score as many, but we hit the ball hard, and they made a couple of nice catches against us.”
Norwich hosts Johnson City today.

SIDNEY - Sidney rallied from a 4-1 deficit to force extra innings, and rallied once again in the bottom of the eighth to beat Oxford Monday.
Jolene Krom’s bunt single scored Hannah Wood in the eighth to make it 5-5, and Karissa Lambrecht followed with a run-scoring single.
Oxford took the lead in the top of the eighth when Rheia Benedict walked and stole second base. Megan Golden came through in the clutch driving in Benedict with a single.
“It was really disappointing, but I was proud of the way the girls came back in the eighth inning,” said Oxford coach Heather Pizza.
Oxford took advantage of 17 walks issued by Sidney pitcher Kailyn Gravel. Gravel, who allowed just two hits, also struck out 18 Oxford hitters.
Oxford pitchers Lorrin Parks and Golden combined for 13 strikeouts and just five walks.
Oxford hosts Greene today.
